Thunder Moon

C. 2004 Jackie Tice

All’s quiet now across the plain
The moon has found her place
High above the Thunder Butte
A miracle in space

She knows how to paint the sky
This Thunder Moon
Thunder moon tonight

Behind the trees, I stand and stare
The view is long and wide
She’s telling me that you are there
Waiting for a sign

She knows where my heart lies
This Thunder Moon
Thunder noon tonight

In the cradle of the forest
All is sound and safe
When I take foot from the darkness
She will light my way

See her dance between the clouds
A million miles apart
Just look at her and count the hours
The reach won’t seem so far

She knows when I will fly
This Thunder moon
Thunder moon tonight
